Frequently Asked Questions

What does the convention fee include?

Entrance to all congress activities and meals from dinner on Thursday through lunch on Sunday.

How can I cancel and until what date can I cancel and receive a refund?

Congress registration can be cancelled by emailing

Hotel room reservations must be cancelled with the hotel directly and according to their cancellation policy – check with the hotel.

How do I book a hotel room?

Hotel rooms are not included in the convention registration fee. Hotel room reservations and payments must be made directly with the hotel. You can reserve and pay for your room at DoubleTree Newark Hotel – Bnei Baruch Special Rate link (Ramada Plaza Newark Hotel Reservations for Bnei Baruch) to receive the discounted hotel room rate.

All hotel room reservations require a deposit for the first night’s cost or a guarantee with a major credit card. The hotel requires a credit card deposit upon check-in at the hotel for payment of room, tax, and incidental room charges.

How late can I make my hotel room reservation?

The hotel guarantees the discounted rate until 11:59 pm EST on May 2nd. And we have only a limited number of rooms blocked off for the event. After that, whatever the prevailing rate and room availability is is what you will be charged.

How much does the hotel room cost?

We have a discounted room rate of $119 + tax per room per night for the nights of May 4 – 7. The hotel will allow up to 4 people in a room so the cost of the hotel room can be divided and shared by the number of people staying in the room together. Rooms have 2 double beds. This group rate is available until 11:59 pm EST on May 2nd.

How many people can stay in a hotel room?

Up to 4 adults. Note that the hotel rooms have either 1 King size bed or 2 double beds. There are not rooms with 4 separate beds.

Can I attend the convention and not stay at the hotel?

We only have less than 3 days a year when all of North America can be together in one place. Even if you live nearby, it is preferable to stay in the focused environment. (As a mother, I can tell you that thinking about earthly matters at home creates a certain disconnection.) Having said that, we do not force anyone to do anything. You are not compelled to register for a hotel room with the hotel.

How can I find a roommate?

If you wish to share a room, we can assist you by making available to you a “bulletin board” of others of the same gender seeking a roommate for a double occupancy room. Fill out the form for a Female Roommate or a Male Roommate and you will be granted access to the roommate seeking bulletin board (spreadsheet) where you can find others seeking a roommate.

Within 24 hours of completing the form, you will receive an e-mail with the spreadsheet link. It is your responsibility to find and confirm your roommate and to make arrangements between you to share the cost of the room. One roommate will need to book a room with the hotel. You can arrange reimbursement either prior to arrival or you can split the cost of the room when you check in.

The hotel will accept multiple credit cards for payment of a single room. We cannot help with triple or quad occupancy roommates. The hotel will allow up to four people in a room. Making these arrangements is up to you.

What about people with dietary restrictions?

We are providing both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. All meals are kosher style.

Contact us for any other special dietary restrictions and we will attempt to accommodate your needs, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to.

Kids at the Convention

Are there any kids activities available during the convention?

There is a Kids’ Program available for children ages 5 – 12. Parents can enroll their children in the Kids’ Program when they register their children for the convention.

The Kids’ Program has scheduled hours of programming and parents are responsible for supervising their children whenever there are no scheduled Kids’ Program activities.

There will be a room for mothers with babies and toddlers to be together and watch the broadcast of the congress lessons and activities.

Dear parents,

This year’s congress kids program will consist of the following:

  1. Separate room for 0-3 year olds, with age appropriate toys and play space, full parental supervision at all times required.
  2. Separate room divided into areas for younger girls (4-6 y.o) and older girls (7-12 y.o), as well as toddler boys (4-6 y.o) with age appropriate toys, volunteer guided craft sessions and other planned activities (yoga, sports, games). Parents will need to sign children in and out and pick up children during meals.
  3. Separate room for boys 7-12 y.o with appropriate physical activities and guidance with supervision by professionals and our men. Younger boys will join them at certain times for outdoor activity. Parents will need to sign children in and out, and pick up children during meals.

Parents who would like their children to participate in the program during the Congress must commit to taking a role and/or a shift in the program. A shift can be ushering an activity and/or facilitating an activity. Time of a shift can be between 30min-3hrs depending on the role. If one of the parents is already committed to a pre-approved Congress role this parent is exempt from their volunteer shift in the program.
