Frequently Asked Questions
What does the convention fee include?
Entrance to all congress activities and meals from dinner on Thursday through lunch on Sunday. HOTEL ROOMS ARE NOT INCLUDED. HOTEL ROOMS MUST BE RESERVED SEPARATELY.
How can I cancel and until what date can I cancel and receive a refund?
Congress registration can be cancelled by emailing email@example.com. Hotel room reservations must be cancelled with the hotel directly and according to their cancellation policy – check with the hotel.
How do I book a hotel room?
Hotel rooms are not included in the convention registration fee. Hotel room reservations and payments must be made directly with the hotel. You can reserve and pay for your room at DoubleTree Newark Hotel – Bnei Baruch Special Rate link (Ramada Plaza Newark Hotel Reservations for Bnei Baruch) to receive the discounted hotel room rate. All hotel room reservations require a deposit for the first night’s cost or a guarantee with a major credit card. The hotel requires a credit card deposit upon check-in at the hotel for payment of room, tax, and incidental room charges.
How late can I make my hotel room reservation?
The hotel guarantees the discounted rate until 11:59 pm EST on May 2nd. And we have only a limited number of rooms blocked off for the event. After that, whatever the prevailing rate and room availability is is what you will be charged.
How much does the hotel room cost?
We have a discounted room rate of $119 + tax per room per night for the nights of May 4 – 7. The hotel will allow up to 4 people in a room so the cost of the hotel room can be divided and shared by the number of people staying in the room together. Rooms have 2 double beds. This group rate is available until 11:59 pm EST on May 2nd.
How many people can stay in a hotel room?
Up to 4 adults. Note that the hotel rooms have either 1 King size bed or 2 double beds. There are not rooms with 4 separate beds.
Can I attend the convention and not stay at the hotel?
We only have less than 3 days a year when all of North America can be together in one place. Even if you live nearby, it is preferable to stay in the focused environment. (As a mother, I can tell you that thinking about earthly matters at home creates a certain disconnection.) Having said that, we do not force anyone to do anything. You are not compelled to register for a hotel room with the hotel.
How can I find a roommate?
If you wish to share a room, we can assist you by making available to you a “bulletin board” of others of the same gender seeking a roommate for a double occupancy room. Fill out the form for a Female Roommate or a Male Roommate and you will be granted access to the roommate seeking bulletin board (spreadsheet) where you can find others seeking a roommate.
Within 24 hours of completing the form, you will receive an e-mail with the spreadsheet link. It is your responsibility to find and confirm your roommate and to make arrangements between you to share the cost of the room. One roommate will need to book a room with the hotel. You can arrange reimbursement either prior to arrival or you can split the cost of the room when you check in.
The hotel will accept multiple credit cards for payment of a single room. We cannot help with triple or quad occupancy roommates. The hotel will allow up to four people in a room. Making these arrangements is up to you.

How do I get to the hotel from the airport?
From Newark Airport:
The hotel provides free 24/7 shuttle service between Newark Airport and the hotel.
At Newark Airport, you can pick up the shuttle at the Shuttle/Ground Transportation Area:
After you land, go to the baggage claim area.
Take the elevator to the third level and follow signs to AIR TRAIN.
Take the AIR TRAIN (monorail) to Station P4.
Hotel shuttles pick up passengers at P4, at the Shuttle/Ground Transportation Area.
Local airport staff are also very helpful in directing you to that area.
Note: from some gates, it can be a long walk.
Arrival Thursday, May 3 (8 AM to 8 PM) or Friday, May 4 (8 AM to 11 AM):
The Welcoming Team will meet you at the Shuttle/Ground Transportation Area to help you board the shuttle.
Arrival any other time:
At the Shuttle/Ground Transportation Area, use the courtesy telephones to call your hotel for a shuttle.
Many shuttles arrive there – be sure to get on the right one.
You can also call the hotels directly:
From JFK Airport:
There are 5 options, listed from least to most expensive.
(1) Public Transportation – Take the train from JFK to Newark Airport, then take the hotel shuttle to the hotel. This is the cheapest option, but probably the least convenient. You will have to make 4 transfers (3 between trains and 1 at Newark to get the hotel shuttle). But at certain times of day, this may actually be the quickest travel time.
(2) Bus (nycairporter.com) – Take a bus from JFK to Newark Airport, then take the hotel shuttle to the hotel. The bus costs about $30, and requires one transfer at the Port Authority in Manhattan. Make reservations ahead of time.
(3) Shared shuttle service to Newark Airport, then take the hotel shuttle. Check travel websites or Google for options, and make reservations ahead of time. (You may even be able to find shuttle service directly to the DoubleTree, or to the Ramada Plaza right next door on Frontage Road.)
(4) Taxi cab – A taxi will take you directly to the hotel, and cost about $100, depending on tolls and traffic. Uber might be a little less expensive.
(5) Private car (or limo) service – Service will take you directly to the hotel. Make reservations ahead of time. If you shop around (using Google or travel websites) this may not cost any more than a taxi.
